After stamping 250 commemorative fans and stripping and waxing the bathroom floors at the church it was time to enjoy the fun part of preparing for the 100th Homecoming...The pig roast! A little before midnight we headed over to the church to help put the pigs on and of course so I could take pics. Since the kids were at Memma and Buppa's we had an enjoyable visit with our friends. Three pigs wrapped and on the fire we left to get a little rest before the big day.
Twelve hours later.....yummy!
My kids all figured out real fast that if they stuck around, Phillip would keep spoiling them with the first tastes of the pig! What a day! There was tons of music, bouncy houses, food galore, fellowship and fun. The only bad part of the day was when Elsalynn got her hair caught in the fan. Not an experience I EVER want to repeat. Julie patiently unwound her hair as I fended off the men with their knives...I am not sure who was more traumatized me or her. She just wanted to go home and didn't even make it there before she was sleeping.
Fortunately when all was said and done this is all she lost which is amazing considering it sucked her hair right in until her little face was mashed up against the protective wire thingy.
