This was my favorite port. Nice little town with lots of historical elements nestled in the mountains. They've kept many of the original buildings from the Klondike era and the sidewalks are still boardwalks. We drove out of Skagway along parts of the White Pass Trail that the stampeders used to hike into the Yukon. We saw a mountain goat and a bear, and unparalleled views. We crossed over into Canada and into the Yukon. These are some of the most beautiful mountains I've seen.
I am a stay at home, homeschooling mom to 3 crazy kids, and wife to a husband who puts up with us all. We have a 120 year old farmhouse we are sure will take just as long to renovate, a one acre garden and too many animals! I am trying to live a slower, simpler life without being dependant on material things, and teach my children to live in a manner that is pleasing to God. Our adventure is challenging but rewarding, and I wouldn't change it a bit.
