It started to snow in the wee hours of Saturday morning....and just kept on snowing. We lost power around 11 am. It didn't come back on until Monday night. I washed dishes in boiled creek water. Kevin hooked up a gas heater and we all slept in the living room. I made coffee in the perculator. We took the kids up the mountain and went sledding. I even got desperate enough and took a bath in an old washtub fillled with heated creek water. It was all very pioneerish. I actually enjoyed it!
If you look closely you can see the roof of our house at the bottom of the mountain.
I am a stay at home, homeschooling mom to 3 crazy kids, and wife to a husband who puts up with us all. We have a 120 year old farmhouse we are sure will take just as long to renovate, a one acre garden and too many animals! I am trying to live a slower, simpler life without being dependant on material things, and teach my children to live in a manner that is pleasing to God. Our adventure is challenging but rewarding, and I wouldn't change it a bit.
